Needing A Little Country?

We have been in California for the past week for Spring break - which we all look forward to, but after a five days or so I start to miss the country!

I guess I'm not what you call a city girl; I do appreciate the energy of the hustle and bustle, but after awhile I need to get out!!

Open Shelving...

In our new kitchen - similar to our old kitchen, we are designing open shelving throughout most of the space.  I know this is not necessarily everyone's favorite design - but for me it's a favorite!

I love to display beautiful white earthenware, dishes and glasses from around the world. 

There is a beautiful simplicity to open shelving, not only is it historically correct - but it helps create a kitchen that is homey:
